Known for having the “Gift of Gab” it is this gift that had a young Tony named the top salesman at Hot Sam’s Quality Clothes in the late ’70s and today referred to by some as a legend in the city of Detroit. Tony is from the East side of Detroit and a graduate of Southeastern High School where he was voted “best dressed”. After high school, he aspired to become an electrical engineer and attended the Detroit Institute of Technology. Tony started working at Hot Sam’s in 1974 and found his natural gifts and talents being utilized and worked his way from top salesman to buyer and in 1994 to owner of Hot Sam’s.
Tony is perhaps considered the voice and face of Hot Sam’s and represents Hot Sam’s wherever he goes. He holds many titles within the community and was most recently the former President of The Detroit Black Chamber of Commerce and involved with The Detroit Entertainment Commission. Tony is a family man, married for 40 years with 3 daughters and 1 granddaughter. An active member of his church, The Empowerment Church, and his favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13 ” I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
